…We all scream for ice cream! Anyone else sing that when they were kids? As you might have guessed, today’s question is about ice cream. But it does a flip on the “favorite” thing and asks What is the worst flavor of ice cream?
The “…that you’ve ever tasted” is implied in the question because let’s be honest here, dear reader, I’m sure that neither you nor I have tasted every flavor of ice cream ever invented. We can only write about what we know and have experienced when it comes to these things. I’ll admit, I’ve had to think about this one a bit. I’ve had some pretty awful tasting ice creams, but can’t really remember what they were called. Banana flavored ice cream comes to mind. I really think that’s kind of disgusting. But, I don’t mind the kind of “ice cream” that’s made from bananas. I’ll post a link to that here. Really, you’re just mashing frozen bananas until they are the consistency of soft serve ice cream. They taste good, and are a good substitute for those who are lactose-intolerant. It’s wicked simple to make, and tastes good mixed with peanut butter, chocolate, strawberries, or whatever tastes good with bananas. Because, you know, it’s made from bananas so it tastes like… bananas. And I’m okay with that. However, having said that banana flavored ice cream, like ice cream made from milk… that’s pretty awful.
Same with chocolate flavored ice cream. I mean, I love chocolate ice cream — any kind, dark, milk, white, whatever! But if it says “chocolate-y” or “chocolate-flavored” keep that stuff away from me because it will most likely taste horrible. If it’s not real chocolate with cocoa butter and cocoa bean, I don’t want it. They can keep their “chocolate flavored” stuff. Even when I was poor as dirt I wouldn’t eat chocolate-y stuff. Ugh. Disgusting. A person has to have standards, y’all. But I think the worst ice cream I ever had was, and I don’t remember the brand, when someone had the brilliant idea of making a peanut butter and jelly ice cream. It was a while back and I thought it sounded interesting. So I tried it. It was awful. I give them an E for effort, but yeah, never trying anything like that again. It was years ago, so I don’t remember exactly how it tasted, I just remember that it was revolting. And that’s about all I can say about this topic. 🙂 Here’s a picture of some coffee and ice cream. Remember, dear reader, it’s never too hot for coffee, and it’s never too cold for ice cream, and anyone who says different just doesn’t know better. Ignore them. ^_^
