Blog stuff Nov 1

No Question of the day today. I’m working on something else with the prompt generator going forward, but it’s not quite finished yet. My goal was to go through October with the question prompt, and I did that. Go me. 🙂 Today I lack the energy to continue on with it. I lack the energy to do much of anything really. I’m surprised I got out of bed to tell y’all the truth, but the pets won’t let themselves out, and they sure as heck won’t feed themselves. Let me tell y’all that. I suppose given enough time and determination, they might figure out a way, but I do not want to see the results of them figuring it out. Ha!

Poptart in particular let me know in no uncertain terms that they do not live by our clocks, and he didn’t care that they were arbitrarily set back last night. He wanted out, dammit, and it did not matter that the clock said six thirty am. Screw that noise. I, personally, forgot about the end of daylight savings, as I usually do. Remember, dear reader, how we used to have all kinds of reminders from friends, commercials, and whatever, for weeks before daylight savings and the end of DLS? Weeks. And people would still forget? I often did. Even though I was the one reminding people. I hate changing the clocks. I don’t care which way we change them. It’s annoying, and it messes with my circadian rhythm. I already have a stupid headache that I can’t shake, and having a messed up sleep cycle isn’t gonna help that at all. Like, just don’t get me started y’all, I could rant for days.

Well, nothing but the love of your dogs for getting up and taking care of them… but still.

Anyway… blog stuff. I’m still working on the prompt generator. Truth be told, I’ve been mostly doing research this past month, so I haven’t really done any building on the site itself. Like, coding is hard y’all. Especially when you don’t know how to do it. ^_^ Right now, I’m trying to figure out the best kind of layout for things and that’s not easy either. Because if you want people to use your site, you have to make it easy to use, pleasant to look at, and open to the general public. I mean, I know what I like, but I’m a weirdo, so what’s pleasant to my eye isn’t gonna be pleasing to other people. I know this because I’m rather fond of the color brown, but I know from experience that it’s not a popular color. I associate it with wood and chocolate so it’s a calm color for me, but other people associate it with things like dirt and poop — yeah, not as pleasant. What can you do? Anyway, these are the things one has to keep in mind when designing a website.

Seen all over teh interwebz and I agree completely. I did change my clock back though.

I know that I’m an amateur when it comes to coding, but that doesn’t mean I have to put up an amateurish website. I want the prompt website to look like someone put some thought into it, so that people will use it. You know? Even if it’s in and obscure corner of the Internet, if people stumble across it, they’ll be like, “Hey, this is kind of cool. I like it.” But that’s just me, I suppose. I remember when I had a temp job folding letters and stuffing envelopes… I folded those damned letters straight as hell because I didn’t want some stranger opening the thing and pulling out a crooked letter then thinking, “Who folded this? They did a terrible job.” I know it’s weird, because no one will notice a perfectly folded letter, but they’ll certainly notice a crooked one. Maybe. Maybe not. Either way, I try to do the best job I’m able. I know this blog doesn’t always show it with the weird grammar and misspellings, but with my brain fog and fatigue, believe it or not, that is my best. And people will just have to put up with that. 😛

With a little help from Mister… 🙂

And tangents that have nothing to do with the topic. Ha! But anyone who knows me knows that’s just how my mind works. I mean, sure I can go back and edit them out, but what’s the fun in that? As for this blog, whenever I get the next blogging prompt up and running, I’ll start posting with it. For now, I’ll do my best to post as often as possible. I may not post every day, but I’ll do what I can. No promises. Thanks to Melanie for playing along with my daily question. I appreciate it. Anyway, thank y’all for putting up with my rambling. I’m gonna go take some more meds to try and get this headache under control. Y’all take care and stay safe. It’s getting crazy out there.
