So I’m finally doing one of these on Monday again. Ha! I’ve been running behind lately. But here I am on a Monday. This, of course, is Melanie’s Share Your World. Go over to her blog and see the unanswered questions and links to other people’s answers. Spread the love as it were. Not much to babble about today. So on to the questions:
What would you enjoy if you could do so without someone getting annoyed with you for enjoying it? It MUST be something you aren’t supposed to enjoy because it is “bad for you”. Playing my music and/or video games at top volume. It’s not so much a problem now because we live in our own house, and it *really* shouldn’t have been a problem in WA, but I grew up in a household of five kids and a grumpy mom, so I’m always hyper-aware of how loud my music/video games are. What’s weird, dear reader, is that there was a time — when I was married to my first husband were I rebelliously played my music as loud as I wanted to no matter what. I think that came crashing down after I divorced him and started living in apartments again. No more blasting music at ultra high decibels, or whatever unit of measure one uses for blasting music. It’s bad for one anyway and probably why I have tinnitus. I dunno, but I want to do it again.
Is it okay for men to wear the color pink? Men can wear any color they want. The whole “blue is for boys, pink is for girls” thing is a social construct and a recent one at that. Recent being a relative term. In the Victorian times, blue was a “woman’s” color, and pink was totally a boy’s color. So whatever. That, and I believe that it’s a Western society thing. I believe that in other parts of the world, pink doesn’t even play in the whole gender identity. Don’t quote me on that though and I’m way too tired to look it up.
Can you curl your tongue? Yep, but that’s a genetic thing. I didn’t even have to practice doing it. Some people can and others can’t. Two of my kids can, and two can’t. It’s just a thing.
What, in your opinion, is the best room to put a fireplace? Wherever one will fit. Though I’m more partial to wood stoves than fireplaces. The house we have right now has two fireplaces — one in the living room and one in the front room. Those are arbitrary names we have to the big rooms that have the fireplaces. One is in the front of the house and one is in the back. I’ll let y’all figure out which one is the “front” room. ^_^ Here are a couple of pictures from the real estate listing. They look way different with furniture in them.
