Questions and Answers

Sharing My World December 14

It’s Monday, y’all, and that means it’s time for Melanie’s Share Your World. She’s not feeling well, so go over to her blog and give her some love. Read other people’s answers to the questions, and so on. Spread the joy. Not much to say around here, so I’ll just go on to the questions:

What news event do you vividly remember hearing about as a child, and where were you? Jimmy Carter was elected president when I was a kid… Nov of 1976 I think? I’m way too tired to look it up. I remember there was such a big to-do about him being A- a Democrat, B-a peanut farmer, and C-from Georgia. But he did win. It was a huge deal in our household. There was also some story about a rabbit that was blown all out of proportion by the press. But then again, aren’t most things like this?

What is a Christmas song that makes you cringe? Oh goodness, there are so many. I’m not a traditionalist by any means, but holy hell there are some Christmas songs out there that are way too cringey. Like, if one is Christian, Christmas is supposed to be about celebrating the birth of their savior, not bumping uglies or even romantic love. And the number of songs that are about getting presents makes me want to hurl. I’m not Christian, so these songs are not offensive to me, but I hate greed. Doug and I don’t really exchange presents. Like we’ll get each other a token present, just because, but we buy each other stuff all year around, why should Xmas be any different? My mind is drawing a blank, but if I have to pick a song, I’d pick Last Christmas by George Michael. Sorry… Wham! it was before he went solo. I love George Michael to death, but I hate that song.

What is one place you shop(ped prior to Covid) that might have surprised people? Hmmm… good question. I can’t think of any store I shopped at that would be a surprise to anyone who knows me.

What is your least favorite holiday side dish? That stupid green bean casserole that everyone in the USA seems to love. I hate it and think it tastes awful.

GRATITUDE SECTION (Always optional)

Share something heart warming that’s happened to you lately. I dunno about heart-warming but Doug bought me some shoes from a company called Pandere and they fit great. Like, y’all don’t even know. I have short, wide feet with high arches that are hard to fit. Finding shoes that fit is like finding a unicorn. The company was having a “Black Friday” sale so I took advantage of it. I normally don’t do Black Friday anything but this was online, and I was in the market for shoes, so I figured Why not? Anyway, the shoes fit, and all I need to do it put inserts in so my arches are supported. Then I’ll be good to go.

Not very many images this time, y’all. I’m just way tired. I took some Excedrin for my aches and pains and that makes my brain go all foggy. I just hope this post isn’t too trumpy for, dear reader. I’ve proofread as best I can, but with a foggy brain, I probably missed some mistakes. Y’all are probably used to it by now though. ^_^ Have a good week!

  1. Thanks Willow for Sharing Your World! Those shoes look amazingly comfortable and sturdy besides. A rare combination these days! I’m glad your Doug found that site! ☺ Green bean casserole is okay with me if you leave those frickin’ crispy onion bits out of the thing. Ugh indeed! I’m going to post, when I feel a little better, a song that is both cringe worthy and annoying, and which most people really hate. I kinda like it though, mostly for the video they shot about it. And ‘Cousin Mel” (because I’m “Cousin Mel” with the flirty attitude and all (or I WAS flirty..oh heck. ) Alrighty then. Have a better week coming up, I hope the brain fog and pain take a break from buggin’ you!

    1. They are pretty comfortable, that’s fersure, but we’ll see how long they last. ^_^ That’s why I bought them on sale! I didn’t want to drop a couple of hundred on something that may or may not last. But we’ll see. Hope you get better soon too.
