Questions and Answers

Sharing My World Early April

Almost forgot the intro! That shows y’all how tired I still am. I was just gonna post the questions. Total brain fog today. Anyway, y’all know the drill. Monday means Share Your World with Melanie and all that jazz. Go over to her blog to see other people’s answers or to join in on the fun. I’m not gonna make any pictures today just pull them from other sites. My mind is totally foggy so please forgive any typos or repetition. I totally did not proofread this at all. Anyway, on to the questions. And away we go!

Do you think psychic abilities exist? As in all things, I think that the possibility of psychic abilities exists. I know that sounds like a cop out, but it’s really not. I don’t dismiss the existence of them just because I’ve never, personally seen them manifest. But I’ve seen some freaky shit in my life, dear reader. Things that can not be readily explained by science alone. And I’ve seen scientific and skeptical types bend over backwards and sideways and twist themselves in a knot to explain away things that have a very easy, if somewhat supernatural, explanation. Like, where’s Occam’s razor when you need it? So yeah, I think that it’s possible that psychic abilities exist. Do I believe that everyone who claims to have “the sight” has the sight? Of course not. Do I dismiss them out of hand? I do not. Because it’s also possible that these abilities do not exist. As with everything, I am Agnostic about it.

How would you describe peanut butter to someone who didn’t know what it was? Peanut butter is a paste that’s made by crushing peanuts, sometimes with salt, sometimes with a little sugar, but usually just peanuts, until it becomes said paste. I find it to be delicious, but other people don’t like it. It’s generally used as a spread on bread or crackers. I like to eat it right out of the jar. But I’m strange like that. They call it peanut butter because it has the consistency of soft butter.

Why does an octopus squirt ink? Without looking it up and reaching back into memory, I believe it’s a defense mechanism. Or it might be to propel them through the water. Okay, now I’ll have to look it up. Yep, I was right the first time.

Who are two of today’s greatest entertainers in your opinion? (can be actors, musicians, singers etc…) This is gonna sound like another cop out, but I honestly could not tell you. I live in a cave, figuratively. I don’t watch television. I don’t go to the movies. I don’t listen to the popular music of today, and mostly I just watch YouTube for entertainment. And the channels I watch generally have under a million viewers, so they aren’t considered “popular” by YouTube standards. I think that the most popular YouTuber I am subscribed to is Randy Rainbow (who is awesome, by the way), and he has just under 700K subscribers. Okay, the Lockpicking Lawyer has about 2.3M subscribers and Viva La Dirt League has a little over 3M subscribers, but in the world of YouTube, that’s honestly not huge. When you look at the “most popular” by subscription in YouTube, you’re looking at hundreds of millions of subscribers. But I like the YouTubers that I watch (or I wouldn’t watch them) and I don’t avoid the popular ones because they’re popular, I just… don’t find them entertaining. Which is why I don’t watch television or listen to a lot of music anymore. It’s not entertaining to me. Anyway, I guess I said all of that to say that I don’t really have an answer to this question.

Baumgartner Restoration has 1.5M subscribers and is very soothing to watch

Please feel free to share a moment of gratitude in your life! I wrote a post yesterday that sounded a little… grousy. And I was grouchy because I was in a lot of pain yesterday, but honestly, I’m way glad that things are getting done around the house. It’s been a little over a year since we moved in and I’m happy that there’s forward movement on the things that have been stagnating for so long. Right now, it’s morning, there’s a tiny bit of chill in the air, the birds are chirping, the dog’s barking in the back yard, and there’s just a sense of… peace in the air. I’ll savor the moment. Take care, y’all.

  1. Thanks, Willow for Sharing Your World and a bit of precious energy along with it! Beautiful images you found to share too! The diagram of the octopus was very well done, I had no idea the creature was so complex! Amazing. I hope you feel better soon, and that the sunshine brings some much-needed energy with it! Take care!

    1. I actually hesitated to use the octopus one, thinking it might be too graphic. Glad you liked it! I thought it was interesting too. 🙂 Thanks for the questions.
