Minor frustrations

Poptart on his new “bed”

All in all, it’s been an uneventful week, dear reader. Not a lot happened, and that’s a good thing. It was Monday and next thing I knew, it was Sunday. I like those kind of weeks. There were only some minor things that went on this week. In a previous post, I mentioned that Poptart is having some difficulties, and that’s still going on. I did take him to the vet, and they checked him out. The problem with taking Poptart to the vet is that we have to give him tranquillizers because he bites whenever they try to examine him. It’s not just this vet, he doesn’t like to be touched at all. He’ll even threaten to bite me if I touch him too much, and I’ve worked with him for coming on four years now. So, when we took him to the vet for acting loopy, and gave him Trazadone to keep him from biting… Well, it was difficult for them to assess what was making him act loopy at the vet. But they assessed him as well as they could and so far as they could tell, he’s physically okay. Since he’s pushing eleven, eating well, and not showing any other signs of stress, they figure it’s old age setting in. The verdict is to wait and see. Right now, I’ve set up a blanket by my desk — under my walker which I only need once in a while (I find that kind of ironic, to be honest) — and he seems to be content with that. He doesn’t go up on the furniture unless there’s a ramp for him to walk up, and that’s okay. Cocoa seems happy about this change of events because he doesn’t have to share the stool with a snarly Chihuahua anymore. Ha! Though Cocoa has his own bed on the floor which is under my desk on the opposite side, in the corner. He’s more of a cave dweller. Anyway, Poptart appears to be doing okay. I’m still waiting for the anti-anxiety meds to kick in and for him to stop chasing Mister because, I’ll be honest with you, dear reader, it does get old.

The rest of the week has been, as I said, pretty uneventful. We still do not have a fence, and I’m to the point where I’m going to be demanding the money we put down for it back, because I’m just about over their run around. Yeah, the company had problems, but we’ve waited nearly a month since that all went down and we still do not have a fence. I’m all kinds of patient, but this is getting ridiculous. In other news, my breathing has gotten a lot better. So that’s good. Seems whatever was giving me problems either stopped blooming or the rain we’ve been getting helped clear the air. My IBS started acting up again though, so there’s that. As the old saying goes, “If it’s not one thing, it’s another.” That’s my body in a nutshell. Anyway, other than my body being a pain (as usual), nothing else went on this week. Take care, y’all.
